Inscription on front end paper. No other marks or inscriptions to contents. No creasing to bevelled edge covers or to spine. A generally clean lightly foxed tight copy with marking mainly to rear board, a little rubbing and no bumping to corners. All page edges gilt. 286pp. An early edition of this which story was written as a 19th century chilld's companion to The Pilgrim's Progress.
