Dust jacket not price clipped or marked or torn with crease to lower front edge and very minor traces of storage. 314pp. Charles, eldest son of King Charles I was heavily defeat by Cromwell's armies at the Battle of Worcester when he returned to England to try to claim the throne after the execution of his father. This account tells how he managed to avoid his pursuers and escape before eventually he was restored to the throne as Charles II.
