Description
No marks or inscriptions. Crease to upper corner of front cover, none to rear or to spine. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked boards and no bumping to corners. 322pp. Set in 1679, this accounts tells of fear and religious terrorism as it is thought that Catholic agents are planning to overthrow the King. Samuel Pepys is charged with treason and faces a show trial and possible execution. Using Pepys' own account of the affair, we are shown how he investigates his mysterious accuser.
