Uniform contemporary quarter cloth over printed boards. = A well-illustrated set of printed lectures dealing with all kinds of sciences, including physics, chemistry, volcanology, scientific expeditions (e.g. to Indonesia), engineering (e.g., on the Panama Canal, various types of bridges, etc.). It also includes a fine, large, multi-folded map, in two colours, of Rotterdam. All papers in Dutch. The first volume is dated 1915 in the preface, the seond volume is not dated, but the last lecture was given on April 6th 1925, so we assume - without further proof - that it was published in the same year. Minimal shelf-wear; number written on front pastedowns, otherwise near mint copies. Rare. Especially in this outstanding condition.
