Oxford, Pergamon Press, 1959-1964. 8vo (24.5 x 15.3 cm). pp. 1408 pp. [xv, 457; xiii, 380; x, 316; xiii, 314]. Numerous illustations. Uniform green cloth. Gilt title on the spines. = Turrill is listed as editor for all four volumes, however, the second volume contains his obituary. This is a "international series of monographs on pure and applied biology". Volume I is titled "A volume in honour of the bicentenary of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew" - it is by far the largest volume. Volume II deals with applied botany, Volumes III and IV deal with recent research in plant physiology. Light shelf wear, cancelled stamp on titles, a few pencil ticks in one volume, otherwise a very good, complete, uniform set.
