Gilt title on the spine. = Written by the German geologist Joseph Rudolph Zappe (1751-1818). This work includes the descriptions and illustrations of many new species, chiefly bivalves and brachiopods. The plates also show upper Triassic Echinodermata, ammonites, and gastropods. Published in the Abhandlungen der K. K. Geolische Reichsanstalt. Bound in the rear: O. Reiss, "Ueber die Lithiotiden" (1903). Published in the same series, and dealing with an enigmatic Jurassic bivalve genus. It has 44 pages, several text figures and seven plates. Small library stamp of Dr. H. Zapfe in the title page top margin. A very good, clean copy.
