8vo. p. To a pensionnaire of the Op ra-Comique, concerning her role in the premiere of Alfred Bruneaux' opera "Les Quatre Journ es". Although the unnamed role is "in itself insignificant", Gheusi had the recipient's name placed next to that of the soprano Marthe Chenal, who created a leading role, so that the public and professionals would immediately notice her: "Le r le des 4 Journ es est insignifiant en soi ; mais j'ai tenu faire inscrire votre nom aupr s de celui de Mlle Chenal, dans une grande cr ation. Ainsi, vous serez tout de suite signal e aux musiciens et au public". - Pierre-Barth lemy Gheusi was director of the Op ra-Comique from 1914 to 1918 and again from 1932 to 1936. - On stationery with embossed letterhead of the Op ra-Comique. Traces of folds and minimal foxing.
