Description

This is an about very good softcover copy with some cover wear. Covers rubbed. The photographer Pepe Diniz, took these photographs in 1972. During the early 20th century the encampment of Francmoisin, just outside Paris in the village of St. Denis, was a mix of Roma, or gypsies and Portuguese people. In the mid-1950s, Portuguese moved to France in significant numbers to escape AntÛnio de Oliveira Salazar's dictatorship. So by the time Pepe Diniz took these photographs the population was mostly just French people of Portuguese descent. Slim but fascinating look at the slum of Francmoisin. Illustrated in black & white with 39 photographs. 11" high X 9" wide, about 45 pages. This book will be securely packed and shipped with tracking.
