Description
8°; 16 pp., two woodcuts within typographical border, one with Mary as Mater dolorosa to title-page, the other with St Anthony of Padua at end. Independent gathering, unbound.
A very rare basic teaching tools, showing pupils how to read, write and spell and providing them with the pillars of the Catholic catechesis. Such a valuable historical source sheds light on the attempts made by the Papal States to increase literacy in their domain just before the end of the Ancien Regime due to the French Revolutions.
The press of Pallade (Pallas) was active in Fermo from 1787 and 1811, issuing books of wide circulation concerning devotion and self teaching.
