11 gravures format 19 x 13 cm, tirée de l'édition de Historiae et Allegoriae de Hertel (circa 1760) "Historiae et Allegoriae" by Hertel translates the descriptions and interpretation based on Cesare Ripa's Iconologia. Gottfried Eichler designed these plates, most of them engraved by Jeremias Wachsmuth. These 11 plates are a beautiful expression of the pictorial and allegorical symbolism of the time.
