Description
4to. Altogether 2½ pages on 3 ff. Each with autog. address. To his publisher Paul Gotthelf Kummer, writing that the copperplates for the almanac are mostly poor, suggesting that they use Mr Muller in the future, and that it is possible to find a csakan (a Romantic recorder or duct flute) in Leipzig. Kotzebue asks for one to be bought and sent on, as well as for music from the new Term Catalogue, Weber's Serenade for pianoforte and guitar, and other works, also requesting information about his correspondent's health. - In the second letter, he tells his correspondent that he has been suffering from cramps in the chest for a whole month, and that an enema has been prescribed, among other things, but that such a machine is nowhere to be found in Weimar. He hopes that Kummer can obtain and send one from Leipzig, concluding that whoever departs first is now uncertain but that they are likely to meet again as friends (in heaven). - In his third letter, Kotzebue asks the Kummersche Buchhandlung to insert an update into the "Intelligenzblatt". - Heavily stained and with some damage to edges. Small tears due to breaking the seal repaired.
