In 16°, cm 10,2 x 17, legatura piena pelle posteriore, pp 357, (3) di pubblicità editoriale. Frontespizio con caratteri in rosso e nero. Lettere in italiano, con testo inglese a fronte. Volume in buone condizioni, bruniture. Timbretti di appartenenza al frontespizio, bell'ex libris settecentesco inglese alla sguardia. Nelle lettere troviamo rispecchiate tutte le vicende politiche e sociali del tempo: l'A. partecipò ai conclave del 1623 e 1644, nel corso del quale morì; fu l'inquisitore che firmò la sentenza di condanna di Galileo nel 1633.
