First Edition. With engraved portrait frontispiece of Burton by Wenceslaus Hollar, a large folding map, and numerous engravings throughout the text. Folio, handsomely bound in contemporary polished calf, the back sometime restored incorporating the original calf, red morocco lettering label gilt. Portrait, [xxii], 266, [5 Index, 1 Errata] pp. A very pleasing copy, crisp and clean, title-page shaved close at the upper edge touching the letters in "A Commentary", else a very well preserved copy.
