Name to half-title page. No other marks or inscriptions. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked boards, minor bump to top of spine and no bumping to corners. Dust jacket not price clipped or marked with rubbing to edges and reinforcing inside to upper edge. 448pp. An in-depth study of Byzantiun and the metropolis of Constantinople, the centre of Christendom for many years until it fell in 1453. The author tells us what the Byzantine Empire achieved and some of the inventions/ideas which emanated from it and are still with us in modern times. With 169 colour and black & white illustrations.
