A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked boards, very clear gilt lettering to spine, dusty untrimmed fore and lower page edges and no bumping to corners. Lightly foxed dust jacket not price clipped or marked with a small tear to upper rear corner of sunned spine and a few nicks and chips to upper and lower edges. 190pp. How the Halifax Building Society began and developed to be the world's largest building society. Well illustrated. Tucked in is an obituary and picture of Algernon Denham who was the Society's President from 1945 to 1961 and a group photo including D H C Briggs, Vice President in 1953.
