A picture of this book is available upon request by email. A remarkable work where this Frenchman was allowed to gather detailed information on the British army and navy over a five year period of residence in England, after many conflicts between France and Britain. "I was constantly employed in visiting ad viewing every object and institution worthy of notice relative the British army and navy". The plate of flogging as practiced by the British Army is often lacking, here has a light stain at one side, mostly marginal. The frontis shows a military building at Chatham at top and light artillery equipment on bottom.
