Description
Königsberg, J. H. Bon, 1840. 4to (27.5 x 22.3 m). 92 pp., one hand-coloured lithographed plate. Original printed wrappers. = Rare, well-illustrated work by the German zoologist Adolph Eduard Grube (1812-1880) on various Mediterranean marine invertebrates with several new species belonging to the Echinodermata (Asterias, Holothuria), Actiniden (sea anemones), and a large variety of "Wurmer". Dedicated by the author to "J. de Verany" [the French zoologist and malacologist Jean Baptiste Vérany (1800-1865)] on the cover. Title page rather foxed; only some marginal foxing in the text, otherwise a very good copy. Cat. BM(NH) 2, p.742; not in Nissen ZBI.
