Description
Oblong 8vo. 1 page (5 lines). To the English scholar of Anglo-Saxon literature Benjamin Thorpe (1782-1870) at St. John's College, Oxford. - In 1835, Bowring entered Parliament, and in the following year he was appointed head of a government commission to be sent to France to inquire into the actual state of commerce between the two countries. - With traces of old mounting on the verso and slight brownstaining.
