Oblong 8vo. 2 pp. To a Mr. Middlemass: "I rejoice in your good report of the opening of our Fancy Fair prospects, & this morning sent you, before the [.] of your note an accession [.] What think you of Maj. [James] Oliphant, he is an excellent active man, & as an India Director will have much influence [.]". - James Oliphant would serve as a director of the East India Company from 1844 to 1856. - With traces of old mounting on the recto.
