Description
8vo. 2 pp. on bifolium. To an unidentified recipient, whose name was unfamiliar to Coquelin, thanking him for a letter and assuring him that the entire troupe would be glad to return to Trouville and perform there. It is difficult, he writes, to perform Chamillac: "[.] Il sera bien difficile de monter Chamillac. Trop de monde! [.]". - He further asks whether the receipient is not, perchance, the poet who published in the newspaper of Deauville, is named Docquois and is a fellow native of Boulogne-sur-mer? He once received verses from one M. Docquois, and if his correspondent is identical to that person, Coquelin would like to know. - The younger brother of the actor Benoît Constant Coquelin was, like him, a student of the Paris conservatory. He made his début at the Odéon and was a member of the Comédie-Française since 1868. - On stationery with embossed monogram "MG". In an old collector's envelope.
