8vo. ½ p. Returning a signed document to a friend and thanking him for tickets that he took the liberty of upgrading: "Voici votre programme visé. Vous me l'avez envoyé sur un papier impossible. Il a fallu le recopier pour le présenter à la Signature. Je vous remercie des billets que vous avez bien voulu m'envoyer. Mais permettez-moi de vous les rehausser. Quand nous les acceptons c'est toujours des premieres places [.]". - Apart from his work as a librettist and translator, Émilien Pacini was a theatre censor at the Ministry of the Interior. A friend of Rossini's, he wrote the lyrics for a cantata composed for the International Exposition (1867) in Paris. - On stationery with printed letterhead of the "Commission d'Examen des Ouvrages dramatiques" at the "Ministère de la Maison de l'Empereur et des beaux-arts". With a minor tear.
