To the director of the Paris "Odéon" theatre, returning his box ticket, as he is in mourning and lives in the countryside, and is thus prohibited from visiting the theatre that year: "J'ai l'honneur de vous renvoyer la loge que vous m'avez adressée. J'habite encore la campagne et de plus, je suis en deuil, cequi m'empechera d'aller au théâtre cette année [.]". - Slightly creased. Traces of former mounting on verso.
