Description
Oblong 8vo (postcard). 1 page. Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau: "Ich erlaube mir Ihrem Wunsche entsprechend mein Autogramm zu schicken […]". - Specializing in bronze sculptures, Bernewitz assisted his teacher, the sculptor Reinhold Begas (1813-1911), in several large commissions, including the Neptune fountain in Berlin, and was a teacher at the Kassel Kunsthochschule from 1908. - Some small ink spots. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
