Description
Oblong 8vo (postcard). 1 page. Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau: "Da ich mich diesen Winter in Norwegen aufgehalten habe, komme ich erst jetzt dazu, Ihnen das Gewünschte zu schicken [.]". - Focused on landscape painting, Normann was inspired by the fjord scenery of Sogn og Fjordane county and Nordland as well as the Lofoten archipelago, which he frequently depicted during midnight sun. His popular works increased tourism to the Norwegian fjords. - Traces of postal stamps; lower right corner slightly creased. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
