Description
Oblong 8vo (postcard). 1 page. Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau: "Ihrem Wunsche entsprechend [.]". - A self-taught artist, Oeder specialized in landscapes and was a collector of Asian, especially Japanese art. His works frequently depict autumnal or wintery scenery of the Lower Rhine region. - Some smeared ink spots; postmark on verso showing through. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
