Description
Oblong 8vo (postcard). 1 page. Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau: "Auf Ihren Wunsch sende ich mein Autogramm [.]". - A member of the Düsseldorf artists' association "Malkasten" from 1870, Willroider applied himself to landscape painting, preferably depicting Lake Starnberg and Carinthia, particularly Villach and Wörthersee, and became an honorary member of the Munich Academy in 1882. - Postmark on verso slightly showing through; a few small ink spots and creases near top left corner. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
