Description
The picture was taken on the occasion of Dalí's reception at the Académie des Beaux-Arts of the Institut de France on May 9, 1979. The recipient of the dedication could be identifiable, but we have no proof for it, in the artist and photographer from Modena Franco Vaccari (b. 1936), who gained his first international recognition at the 1972 Venice Biennale with “Real Time Exhibition No. 4”, published the following year with an introduction by Renato Barilli (Esposizione in tempo reale, Pollenza, 1973) (cf. L. Panaro, L'occultamento dell'autore. La ricerca artistica di Franco Vaccari, Carpi, 2007).
