Description

#355 of 800 printed. 52 unnumbered pages. Text in French. Oblong 27.5 cm x 21.5 cm. Undated but probably circa 1920. Approximate translation of handwritten inscription on second leaf indicates this copy was presented to Georges Soulier, officer des Chars d'Assaut 505e regiment A.S. under order of the American Army, 5th Division, 79e Division, 90th Division. On the same page an additional inscription signed by Nouliel (?) in 1928 appears to read "a mon bon ami Carlton B. Overton en Souvenir de la guerre 1914-1918." Profusely illustrated with black and white photos of French tank action in WWI. Includes photos of those killed in action and chronology of action on the French Front. Pencil underlining on one page. Covers and pages embrittled with age, with resultant chipping. Covers and dedication page almost loose. A rare surviving copy of this important history. Book
