Description

FIRST EDITION of this collection of poems by Bonnefoy, illustrated with SIX LOOSE, FULL-PAGE ORIGINAL PENCIL-SIGNED COLOR ETCHING-AQUATINT-COLLAGES BY MASAFUMI YAMAMOTO, perhaps the world's greatest living book artist. Edition limited to only 55 numbered copies, each SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR AND THE ARTIST. Printed on fine, thick handmade wove paper. Bilingual (facing-page) French-Japanese text. In addition to the six signed color etchings, there are six etching printed over pages of Japanese text, and embossing on the front and rear cover. 4to. Quires sewn together, and loose in wraps as issued. Housed in a folding cloth case. FINE AND BRIGHT. A gorgeous production, which amply demonstrates Yamamoto's virtuosity as a printmaker and creator of illustrated books.
