November 1668 in Leipzig; gest. 30. April 1736 in Hamburg) war ein deutscher klassischer Philologe, Bibliograph und Theologe. [.] Sein Hauptwerk bleibt aber die 14-b�ige Bibliotheca Graeca (1705�1728, durchgesehen und fortgef�hrt von Gottlieb Christoph Harle� 1790�1812), die zu Recht als maximus antiquae eruditionis thesaurus bezeichnet wurde. Ihre Abschnitte werden durch Homer, Platon, Jesus, Konstantin der Gro� und die Eroberung Konstantinopels 1453 markiert; ein sechster Abschnitt ist dem kanonischen Recht, der Jurisprudenz und der Medizin gewidmet. [.] Fabricius' most important work is the Bibliotheca Graeca (1705�1728, revised and continued by G. C. Harles, 1790�1812), a work which has been denominated maximus antiquae eruditionis thesaurus (the greatest repository of ancient learning). Its divisions are marked off by Homer, Plato, Jesus, Constantine, and the capture of Constantinople in 1453, while a sixth section is devoted to canon law, jurisprudence and medicine. (Wikipedia).
