8vo., First Edition thus, title lightly spotted; handsomely bound in contemporary full calf, sides with multiple frame border in blind, back with five raised bands tooled in blind, second and fourth compartments with red leather labels lettered and numbered in gilt, red edges, marbled endpapers, a very good, bright, clean copy in attractive period binding. First appearance of this volume, one of three such comprising first publication of one of the most important documents in English poetry. Now in the BM, Percy's MS is a major and primary source of Child's pioneering collection of English ballads. SCARCE, ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION.
