Both contained in pictorial cloth portfolio. Inner boards and flaps with floral pattern. = A beautifully produced introduction to the flower system introduced by Linnaeus. The fine drawings, in Jugendstil style, show complete flowers and cross sections. The plates have perforations in the left margin, so that they could be removed easily and handed out to students, while the text section - to be retained by the teacher - is bound separately. We doubt not that this has greatly reduced the number of complete copies, such as this one. In fact, we know of no other copies on the market. There are no auction records. The front board has in the title Blüten-Diagramme, instead of Blütendiagramme. With stamp "Rezensions-Exemplar" in the lower margin of both the text and the plate brochures. Another stamp on the lower flap. Otherwise clean. Rare. OCLC reports only four copies, viz. three in German libraries, and one in Paris. Neither in Cat. BM(NH), nor in Nissen BBI, nor in Stafleu and Cowan.
