4to., First Edition, with 8 coloured plates and 26 monochrome illustrations in the text; original series binding of pictorial boards, a near fine copy in unclipped dustwrapper, the latter lightly browned at backstrip and on (predominantly white) rear panel. With small pictorial personal bookplate on front free endpaper. Published in Collins' well-known 'Britain in Pictures' series. Variously titled 'Horses of Britain' (dustwrapper front panel), 'Horses and Ponies of Britain' (dustwrapper inner front flap) and 'British Horses and Ponies' (half-title and title). UNCOMMON IN THIS CONDITION. Carney 57.
