8vo., First Edition, on laid paper, with a portrait frontispiece (original tissue guard present); original blue buckram, gilt back, backstrip lightly sunned (but all gilt entirely legible) else a very good, bright, crisp copy. Published a year after Strachey's death. Collects thirty-eight essays (including his first published piece 'Two Frenchmen') selected by his brother James Strachey.
