FIRST COMPLETE EDITION (an earlier edition had appeared in 1615). THE UNIQUE COPY PRINTED ON FINE YELLOW WOVE PAPER ("papier jonquille"--another copy was printed on pink paper). This copy is in first state (and perhaps unique as such), with the page number of p. 258 uncorrected ("528"). 2, xxx, 640 pp. plus two lithographed facsimile plates printed on thick wove paper plus a large folding typographic chart. Text in Latin, with extensive scholarly introduction, appendices, and notes in French. Includes earliest surviving desscription of a lottery, a feature discovered and fully investigated by Le Glay. Large 8vo. Bound in original printed boards. Light wear to boards. Internally uncut, FINE AND BRIGHT. A PRISTINE COPY OF A RARE BOOK, THE UNIQUE EXAMPLE PRINTED ON YELLOW PAPER.
