Printer's mark with coat of arms of the city Cologne on last leaf. 274 (i.e. 276), (12) leaves. 8vo. Contemporary pigskin (library stamp on title). Cologne, Peter Quentell, June 1525. First edition of a polemical work by J. Dietenberger (1475-1537) against Martin Luther. His last and famous book is the catechism edition printed in 1537. Dietenberger was one of the first in the 16th century to translate the Bible into German from the original Greek and Hebrew text.
