Description
No marks or inscriptions. A lovely clean very tight copy with bright unmarked cream cloth boards and no bumping to corners. Dust jacket not price clipped or marked or torn or creased. 180pp. Leaving London behind him, the author bought some land at South Gorley, on the edge of the New Forest and converted a tumbled down cottage the Cuckoo Hill into his ideal house over 5 yrs. The archaeology and nature and life ofthe area exercised such a fascination over him that he embarked upon a remarkable private record of what is now a vanished world, handwritten and lavishly illustrated with his own superb watercolours.
