First complete edition of this 13th-century Low Saxon chronicle. XVI, 336 pp. Scheller filled the lacunae in the manuscript by translating a 15th-century translation of the chronicle back into Plattdeutsch, earning him the mockery of leading philologists. Interestingly, many of the quires are PRINTED ON BLUISH LAID PAPER. 8vo. Bound in contemporary marbled boards. A bit of wear to binding, but structurally solid. Internally very clean. Very scarce.
