First edition, 4to (245 x 165 mm), [6], ii, [2], 202pp., with additional engraved title page, 48 fine steel engraved plates on india paper, with tissue guards, occasional light foxing, original red cloth, neatly rebacked with original spine and black gilt lettered label, uncut. Nicely produced steel engravings, mostly of country houses, with armorials and titles to plates. Provenance: Ownership signature of Maria & Emma Codrington (1846) to title page, with their bookplate, and their house Dodington, is marked in the index. Cooper I, 10.
