>4° (215x146 mm). [2] ll. On the first leaf woodcut initial and a vignette depicting a town destroyed by earthquake. Unbound. An excellent, uncut copy. Very rare account of the strong earthquake which in May 1766 devasted Constantinople (Istanbul) and the Izmit Bay. The greatest part of the stone buildings collapsed, including the 15th-century Fatih Mosque. The shocks also caused important damage to the bazaar.
