Spine with gilt lines and title. = Classic study by the German geologist Ferdinand Zirkel (1838-1912), a pioneer in the microscopical research of rocks and minerals. Small library stamp (from the private library of a Dutch geologist), on the front free endpaper and the title page. Rubbed at joints with cloth partly split, preliminary pages a bit foxed, otherwise good.
