The work includes the following speeches: - “Discorso primo sopra la utilitá della lettura degli antichi autori scientifici a perfezionare lo spirito”; - “Discorso secondo sopra l'utilitá dello studio delle scienze naturali alla teologia”. Antonio Pinazzo (1750-1820), Spanish Abbot, former Jesuit, taught mathematics, physics, logic, philosophy and theology. He was also a good scholar of ancient languages, and writer of poems in Latin.
