In 4to (mm. 230x172). Pp. [12], 547, [1 bianca]. Vignetta in legno al titolo. Iniziali xilografiche. Testo stampato su due colonne. Pergamena rigida coeva, tassello con titolo in oro al dorso, taglio marezzato. Bruniture e fioriture sparse, ma buona copia genuina.
Rara edizione, contenente 35 dissertazioni, che fa seguito a quelle stampate a Leida nel 1708 e nel 1718. “Hoffman was first to perceive pathology as an aspect of physiology and was the most important of the Iatromechanists. He believed an ether-like vital fluid to be present in the nervous system and to act upon the muscles” (Morton).
