This monograph explores the famous art deco architectural masterpiece of Eckart Muthesius, the Maharaja's Palace at Indore. This book presents the first full length photographic documentation of Eckart Muthesius' work. All the illustrations are vintage black & white photographs from the period + some color plates of surviving fuirniture pieces. The furniture in the palace was designed by a who's who of famed designers of the day including Le Corbusier, Marcel Breuer, Eileen Gray, Ruhlmann, Louis Sognot, Ivan da Silva Bruns and Jean Puiforcat among others. Also includes drawings and a model reconstruction of the 'Project for a Country Residence', and several other projects. 11" high 9" wide, 176 pages. Large heavy book, foreign shipping will be extra.
