Description
With engr. frontispiece portrait of Goethe by F. Oberkogler. 168 pp. 8vo. Contemp. boards, uncut (rubbed, spine ends and corners worn). Leipzig, n. pr., 1803. Goethe's drama Egmont, set in the Netherlands in 1566 during the rebellion againt Spain. This is a reprint after volume three of "Goethe's Schriften" (1787-1791) in four volumes, published by Goeschen. With the portrait engraved by Georg Christoph Friedrich Oberkogler (1774-1858) who was mainly active in Zurich. - Somewhat browned, some light spots to frontispiece. - Hagen 192.
