Illustrated with 60 plates from the author's own sketches and drawings, some i colour, one folding colour map. 8vo, original dark blue cloth, lettered and ruled in gilt on the spines, upper covers lettered in gilt with a gilt vignette. Publisher’s paper file copy label also on upper covers. xvi, 359, 16 ads; xii, 388 (including index). A handsome set, rarely seen in such nice shape, the cloth with only minimal rubbing at the edges or extremities, internally fresh and clean with minor spotting to the prelims only.
