A fascinating example of a modern block-book, in which BOTH THE TEXT AND THE ILLUSTRATIONS ARE ENTIRELY ENGRAVED IN WOOD. 18 wood-engraved panels (measuring 12.5 x 12.5 cm), plus the covers (also engraved in wood), folded accordion-style. Printed in a very small edition on very fine, thick wove paper. Light wear to hinges and corners, else FINE AND BRIGHT. Extremely rare.
