AN UNRECORDED ISSUE OF THE FIRST EDITION of this commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Louis XV's coronation. 74 pp plus 9 fine full-page etched plates (complete): two plates depicting heraldic devices: five plates by Chenu, Duclos, and Littret after Gabriel de Saint-Aubin with allegorical medallions (and engraved text) depicting events from Louis' rule; and two full-page allegorical plates. AN UNRECORDED ISSUE, with an additional section devoted to the founding of the Academie Royale d'Ecriture. This section comprises 5 text pages not described in recorded editions and a full-page plate by Defehrt after Monnet (an allegory of writing). Printed on very fine, thick laid paper with ample margins. The impressions of the etchings are outstanding. 4to. Bound in quarter calf and decorated boards. Binding a bit worn, with leather missing from top of spine. Internally FINE AND BRIGHT, and incredibly fresh. Cohen-De Ricci 794.
