This is the story of a pediatrician who was forced to leave his country when Germany was under Nazi rule although he had been awarded a medal of honor. Prof. Dr. Albert Eckstein. He was a physician who accepted the noble mission offered to him by the Turkish Republic without a moment's hesitation in spite of receiving other job offers from the USA and England and started working in Ankara within the same month. He was asked to prepare an official report on the health and diseases of TUrkish children while he was assigned by the modern Turkish Republic as the chief of Pediatric Clinic of the Ankara Numune Hospital. Prof. Eckstein visited 25 provinces and hundreds of villages of Anatolia together with his wife Erne Eckstein, also a pediatrician, to bring polyclinic services to thousand of patients.
