RARE monograph on the Jewish community of Rawitsch in the Prussian province of Posen, written by the renowned scholar John Cohn (1893-1920), the last in a long line of scholarly rabbis, who served at the Rawitsch synagogue. 250x165mm. 122 pages. Softcover rebound with original cover pasted on front and rear cover. Original cover edges tattered and partly missing. Cover stained and somewhat worn. Rebound rear cover partly taped. Spine taped and age-stained. Author's name and title written in pen on spine. Cover corners, spine edges, pages upper corner near spine, and some pages bottom corner bumped. Ex-library copy with stamp on title page, pages 25, 53, 122, and small pen marks on whitepage and title page. Binding slightly loose. Inner cover partly taped to extreme pages. Binding visible on inner cover. Binding upper part visible between pages 64-81. Pages yellowing and uncut. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare history of the Jewish community of Rawitsch has sustained some mostly external damage to its cover, but is still in good reading condition.
